Pouring the plant room floor



Today the builders were starting to pour the concrete into the footings for the building. These photos show concrete being poured into what will be the plant room floor. The plant room will be the home of the building systems including air conditioning units and power management systems.

Despite the rain this month, groundworks are proceeding to schedule. If you visit the site you can now see the new buildings outline. Trenches have been dug and concrete will be poured in the next few days. The lift well is also taking shape.

Demolition work is now completed and footing excavations and concreting for the new library are underway.

Work continues at the site with survey work and ground preparation underway for the footings and slabs. The school of arts buildings has been externally braced to maintain structural integrity while the roof is painstakingly removed.

Artists View



The Oxford road frontage of the new Library Community Centre will look a little like the image below. The new building will incorporate the important historical elements of the School of Arts building and the significant trees in Hallinan Park. The Councillor memorial has been temporarily removed and will be reinstalled in the park once landscaping has commenced.

Demolition has begun

Demolition of the old Ingleburn Library and Community Hall has commenced and is now well underway.

The historic facade of the School of Arts building will be retained, however due to structural reasons much of the roof structure will be removed.
